Albert Pujols could rival Barry Bonds baseball success
Baseball player Albert Pujols continued his home run spree with his 22nd of the season as St Louis Cardinals beat Kansas City 10-3 and only Barry Bonds has set a faster pace, reaching 22 in 43 games in 2001 when he set the major league single-season record of 73.
It was Albert Pujols' 44th game when he drove a fourth-inning pitch into the right-field bullpen at Kansas City to homer for a third straight game.
Albert Pujols and Barry Bonds could face off on Monday when the St Louis Cardinals begin a three-game series in San Francisco.
First baseman Albert Pujols broke a scoreless tie with his hit, one of three home runs off losing pitcher Scott Elarton in the interleague game and it boosted his runs batted in total for the season to 54, also a major-league leading score.
