The Dallas Cowboys choose Wade Phillips as new coach
The Dallas Cowboys American football team have chosen Wade Phillips as their new head coach and he will replace Bill Parcells who retired last month after being with the Cowboys for over four years.
Wade Phillips, 59, from Orange, Texas, and who began his coaching career in Houston, had spent the last three seasons as defensive co-ordinator with San Diego.
"It's great to have these cowboy boots back in Texas because I'm a Cowboy now and I'm proud of it," Wade Phillips said proudly.
In his coaching career Wade Phillips had also been head coach of Buffalo from 1998-2000 and for the Denver Broncos (1993-94).
Wade Phillips, whose father Bum was coach for the Houston Oilers, has been responsible for and successful in creating a solid San Diego defense over the past three seasons. This is an area where it is said that the Dallas Cowboys need to improve, making Wade Phillips an ideal man for the job.
