Shaun Alexander's scores equal NFL touchdowns record
Seattle's Shaun Alexander scored three times to equal an NFL
single-season record for touchdowns as Seattle were victorious over
Indianapolis 28-13 to ensure home play-off games.
Shaun Alexander scored in the first, third and fourth quarters to take
his seasonal total to 27 - level with Priest Holmes' record from 2003.
Shaun Alexander's scores increased Seattle's winning run to 11 games
and set a franchise record with their 13th win of the season.
It was a second successive loss for the Colts, who won their first 13 games.
Seattle have already qualified for the NFC play-offs while Indianapolis have secured homefield advantage for the AFC play-offs.
The Colts were without coach Tony Dungy, whose 18-year-old son was tragically found dead in his Florida apartment on Thursday.
As well as this news, the Denver Broncos clinched a place in the second
round of the play-offs after an impressive performance from quarterback
Jake Plummer in their 22-3 win over the Oakland Raiders.
