Seattle Seahawks thrash Philadelphia Eagles

lofatatupu Seattle Seahawks defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 42-0 to equal their longest NFL winning streak.

Andre Dyson and Lofa Tatupu scored touchdowns off interceptions as the Seattle Seahawks won their eighth straight game. Andre Dyson also returned a fumble for a score.

Shaun Alexander rushed for two more touchdowns while Bobby Engram caught a scoring pass on the opening drive.

It was the Philadelphia Eagles' worst defeat in 43 years and the first time they have failed to score since 2003.

Before the game, the Philadelphia Eagles retired defensive end Reggie White's number 92 jersey but fans had little else to cheer on a snowy night in Philadelphia as the Seattle Seahawks soared to a 35-0 halftime lead.

To make things even worse for the Philadelphia Eagles, running back Brian Westbrook limped off with a foot injury.

Andre Dyson also finished the game injured on the sidelines; as he hurt his right ankle whilst returning Ryan Moats' fumble for Seattle's final touchdown.

The Seattle Seahawks, now 10-2, have already clinched the NFC West title and a play-off spot.
