San Diego Chargers and New York Giants advance
The teams of the San Diego Chargers and the New York Giants both played well enough on Sunday to advance to the last four of the NFL play-offs.
The San Diego Chargers defeated Indianapolis Colts 28-24 even though they had lost their top rusher LaDainian Tomlinson because he was injured, and the New York Giants beat the Dallas Cowboys 21-17 after two touchdowns from Eli Manning to Amani Toomer.
San Diego Chargers will now play against New England Patriots while New York Giants face the Green Bay Packers for a place in Super Bowl XLII on 3 February.
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning was celebrating victory just hours after his older brother, Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning was beaten, and Eli Manning said: "It sucks. I heard the news right before the game started. I don't know what happened but I know he was rooting for me."
