Ryan Longwell helps Minnesota beat Washington Redskins
American footballer Ryan Longwell kicked a field goal with just 60 seconds to go and gave Minnesota a 19-16 win against the Washington Redskins.
Ryan Longwell's deciding goal followed a drive of 54 yards and 11 plays and the Redskins then had the chance to level the game, however, John Hall, who had earlier kicked three field goals, hooked a 48-yard attempt wide.
Elsewhere on the other Monday night game, LaDainian Tomlinson scored a touchdown as San Diego beat Oakland 27-0.
LaDainianTomlinson rushed for 131 yards, two yards more than the entire Raiders offence and Antonio Gates and Michael Turner also crossed in the final quarter.
This was the first defeat since 1981 that Oakland have suffered on their home patch.
Minnesota's victory gave head coach Brad Childress an ideal beginning to his new post.
Quarterback Brad Johnson, who is the oldest offensive player in the NFL, threw for a touchdown and 223 yards.
