ryanlongwell American footballer Ryan Longwell kicked a field goal with just 60 seconds to go and gave Minnesota a 19-16 win against the Washington Redskins.

Ryan Longwell's deciding goal followed a drive of 54 yards and 11 plays and the Redskins then had the chance to level the game, however, John Hall, who had earlier kicked three field goals, hooked a 48-yard attempt wide.

Elsewhere on the other Monday night game, LaDainian Tomlinson scored a touchdown as San Diego beat Oakland 27-0.

Minnesota's victory gave head coach Brad Childress an ideal beginning to his new post.

Quarterback Brad Johnson, who is the oldest offensive player in the NFL, threw for a touchdown and 223 yards.
