Pittsburgh Steelers beat St Louis Rams despite injury
Pittsburgh Steelers were victorious against the St Louis Rams despite an injury to one of their players because running back Willie Parker broke his right leg early on in the game.
Ben Roethlisberger passed for three touchdowns as Pittsburgh Steelers won 41-24 against the St Louis Rams who struggled on Thursday.
The victory by the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-5) means they are top of the AFC North.
Willie Parker's replacement, Najeh Davenport, played well as he rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown and caught a TD pass as well.
And Ben Roethlisberger completed 16-of-20 passes for 261 yards, making a connection with Nate Washington for two of the TDs. The second of these put the Pittsburgh Steelers in the lead at 17-14 in the second quarter.
Najeh Davenport then caught a 12-yard pass from Ben Roethlisberger, and the Pittsburgh Steelers went 24-14 up with less than two minutes left in the half.
St Louis Rams (3-12) battled back to 31-24 on Marc Bugler's third touchdown of the game, however, Pittsburgh Steelers scored 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, with Ike Taylor returning an interception 51-yards to clinch the victory.
