Pittsburgh Steelers' "The Bus" makes last stop in Detroit
Pittsburgh Steelers player Jerome Bettis is planning a wonderful ending to his career in Super Bowl XL.
The veteran running back known as "The Bus" will be playing in his
hometown when the Pittsburgh Steelers face Seattle at Detroit's Ford
Field on Sunday, 5 February.
"The thought of Detroit was always in the back of my mind," Jerome Bettis said after the Steelers AFC title game triumph.
"I always thought we could get there and now it has come true. Detroit watch out, here we come."
And very pleased quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said. "I made a promise
to 'The Bus' that I would get him back to Detroit. We're going and I'm
so happy."
The Pittsburgh Steelers only clinched a play-off spot on the final
weekend of the season and managed to seal an unlikely road sweep of top
seeds to reach the NFL showpiece.
"We've been on the doorstep a couple times," Jerome Bettis said. "Once
we got to the play-offs, we knew it was a realistic possibility."
Pittsburgh Steelers will be looking to regain their past glory in
Detroit where they once won four Super Bowl crowns in six years from
1975 through to 1980.
Seattle, who had not won a play-off game in 21 years before
this season, will be making their first appearance at the Super Bowl.
