NFL star Terrell Owens denies overdose claim

terrellowens NFL star Terrell Owens has denied that he deliberately overdosed on painkillers at his Dallas home.

Reports in Texas claimed a police file stated that the Dallas Cowboys player admitted to paramedics that he had tried to harm himself, however, Terrell Owens insisted at a media confence: "There was no suicide attempt."

The police report, a copy of which was posted on the Dallas Morning News website, said that Dallas Fire & Rescue responded to a call regarding an attempted "suicide by prescription pain medication".

Terrell Owens, 33, said he had been feeling groggy after mixing painkillers with supplements so his publicist had decided to call for help.

"I was non-responsive when she made that call," Terrell Owens said. "She made it out of her judgment for my well-being.

"The rumour about me taking 35 pills is absurd. If I took 35 pills I wouldn't be here," Terrell Owens said and added that he was "not depressed about anything".
