NFL legend Brett Favre wants to play for Green Bay Packers again

brett favreFormer Green Bay Packers quarter-back Brett Favre wants to come out of retirement and to play again for the team.

38-year-old Favre retired in March but has had second thoughts and wants to reverse his past decision.

This presents a problem for Green Bay Packers who had taken on Aaron Rodgers as their first-choice quarter-back.

And if Green Bay decide to release Favre from his contract, which runs until 2010, so he could go to another team, they fear their main rivals at Minnesota would grab him immediately.

However, Green Bay Packers have issued a public statement saying they will take him back as a player.

President of the team Mark Murphy said: "He has had a great career with our organisation and although we built this year around the assumption that Brett meant what he said about retiring, Brett is coming back."

And Brett Favre intends on reporting for training at Green Bay on Monday his agent has said.
