Former American football star OJ Simpson on bail
Former-American football star OJ Simpson has been released on bail from a central Las Vegas prison after facing charges of involvement in an armed robbery.
The prosecution allege that OJ Simpson, 60, took part in a raid on a sports memorabilia dealer in a hotel just last Thursday.
OJ Simpson has a bail of $125,000 (£63,000), but he has been told that he is banned from contacting potential witnesses or from leaving America.
OJ Simpson is facing 11 charges including robbery and kidnapping, and if convicted, he could get life in prison.
It has been reported that OJ Simpson left the jail by the back door and was taken away in a car driven by his lawyer with TV crews in cars and helicopters following after them.
In interviews before he was arrested, OJ Simpson claimed he was only trying to get back some items that belonged to him. OJ Simpson denied any involvement with guns, and he is expected to plead not guilty to all charges.
