Chicago Bears beat St Louis Rams

chicago bears American footballer Devin Hester scored two touchdowns on kick-off returns as Chicago Bears booked a first-round bye in the play-offs with a 42-27 win against St Louis Rams.

Devin Hester ran in from 94 and 96 yards and players Thomas Jones and Adrian Peterson also crossed for the Chicago Bears.

St Louis Rams have now lost seven of their last eight games.

The St Louis Rams did score twice by the actions of Torry Holt and Stephen Jackson but their defence wasn't strong enough and it was the performance of Devin Hester of their opponents that stole all the attention.

The two kick-off scores against St Louis Rams added to three punt returns and a field goal return, giving Devin Hester a record six kick returns this campaign.

Chicago coach Lovie Smith said: "The story of the game is Devin Hester," and he added: "It's time we start looking at him as an offensive player."
