British sprinter Dwain Chambers to join European NFL camp
British sprinter Dwain Chambers is hoping to start his career again in American football during an NFL Europe training camp in Cologne this week.
Dwain Chambers, 28, returned to athletics in June after his two-year ban for failing a drugs test ended.
If successful, Dwain Chambers could go on to be part of a camp in Florida at which NFL Europe franchises recruit players.
Dwain Chambers won his first major gold medal four years ago in Munich to claim the European title before he tested positive for the steroid THG.
However, it was after his relay triumph in Gothenburg in August that Dwain Chambers first announced his ambition to switch to another sport.
"American football has interested me for a long time and I'm excited to see what opportunities might be there for me in the sport," Dwain Chambers said at the time and added: "It is a serious option for me at the moment."
