Ben Roethlisberger makes his return for Pittsburgh Steelers
Ben Roethlisberger, who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident two months ago, will be returning to sport playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their pre-season opener against Arizona Cardinals.
Ben Roethlisberger, 23, became the youngest quarterback to win the Super Bowl when the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated Seattle in February.
It had been looking doubtful that he would recover in time for Sunday's exhibition game against Arizona considering the extent of his injuries but Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher said: "I like where Ben's at right now. He's had a good camp and looks ready to go."
Ben Roethlisberger, who has not missed a workout, had surgery for multiple facial fractures, a broken upper and lower jaw a broken nose and he also suffered a mild concussion, lost two teeth and chipped several more.
The Pittsburgh Steelers begin the regular season against Miami on 7 September in the opening game of the NFL campaign.
