American sprinter Justin Gatlin trains with NFL's Houston Texans
American disgraced Olympic 100m champion sprinter Justin Gatlin has been training with the NFL's Houston Texans.
Justin Gatlin is facing a life ban from athletics after he tested positive for the banned substance testosterone in April and his case goes to arbitration in 2007.
Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak was impressed by Justin Gatlin's workout as a receiver but said he wouldn't be offering the sprinter a contract at present and he maintained that Gatlin had also trained with other NFL teams over the past month.
"It would be a big step for him to step up and start playing football," Gary Kubiak said. "But that looks like it's something that he's interested in," and he added: "He did a good job (in the workout). Some of our people who were watching him were amazed at how fast he ran.
"I don't even know if he was full speed at that time. But he did catch the ball pretty good."
