Chelsea sign Daniel Sturridge from Manchester City
Chelsea Football Club have just signed Daniel Sturridge from Manchester City for a four-year deal.
Sturridge first played for Manchester City back in February 2007. He has a past record of having scored four goals in the 26 times he was a player last season.

Irish golf star Padraig Harrington misses the cut
Irish golf star Padraig Harrington is continuing his recent downturn in fortune because he has now missed his fifth cut in a row after he carded a 75 in the second round of play in the French Open.
He had been pinning all his hopes on recovering past form for this last but one event before he goes ahead to defend his Open title on 16 July.

Venus Williams to face sister Serena in Wimbledon finals
US tennis star Serena Williams will be playing against her sister Venus in Saturday's Wimbledon final after defeating her Russian opponent Elena Dementieva.
Serena beat Dementieva with a 6-7 (4-7) 7-5 8-6 score in an epic match that lasted two hours and 48 minutes, making it the longest women's semi-final game in Wimbledon's history.

Tiger Woods shares second place with DA Points and Bryce Molde
American golf star Tiger Woods played his lowest round in almost two years to finish two shots behind Anthony Kim who is in the lead after the first round of the PGA National.
Woods ended up sharing joint runner-up position with D.A. Points and Bryce Molde at the event.

Chelsea will not sell John Terry to Manchester City
Chelsea Football Club have turned down an offer from Manchester City who were hoping to buy the London club's captain John Terry.
This was the second time Manchester City had tried to get Terry, who is also captain for England, because their earlier offer in late 2008 was also rejected.

Cricketer Mohammad Asif fined for opium
Cricketer Mohammad Asif has been given a fine of 1m rupees (£7,500) by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for possessing the drug opium at Dubai Airport last year.
In his defence Asif, who in the past has taken 51 wickets in 11 Tests, maintained that he did not realise there was opium in a herbal remedy he was using at the time.

Andy Roddick to face Andy Murray at Wimbledon
American tennis star Andy Roddick has beaten Australia's Lleyton Hewitt to face Scotsman Andy Murray in the semi-finals of Wimbledon.
Roddick comfortably won the first set but then Hewitt levelled the score in the second-set tie-break.

Andy Murray to keep his focus on winning
Scottish tennis star and British number one Andy Murray says he is going to ignore all the hype in the press and just focus on winning at his first Wimbledon semi-final.
Murray is aiming to become the first British player since Fred Perry back in 1936, who has been the winner of the men's title.

David Beckham has upset fans says US Soccer Federation boss
Sunil Gulati, the president of the United States Soccer Federation, thinks that David Beckham can expect hostile reactions from football fans when he makes his comeback to LA Galaxy.
Bloomberg reported that Gulati said that the deal that allowed Beckham to spend five months at AC Milan has disappointed a number of Major League Soccer (MLS) fans.
